Web servers
Web servers that are looked after —
not just set up
We provide the server and we run it: operating system, software, security updates, monitoring and fault resolution are ours. You work on your application.
One server, three routes
Which server type fits depends less on the budget than on the load, and on how strictly things have to be separated. A dedicated server runs on hardware available to you alone — that suits steady high load and requirements for physical separation. A virtual server runs on its own VM with guaranteed resources and can be adjusted more quickly.
If you do not need hosting for yourself but want to pass it on, the third option is the right one: your own hosting platform on its own VM, which you administer for separate tenants through LiveConfig and offer under your brand.
We fully manage all three — including setup, configuration and, where hardware has been bought, handling the manufacturer's warranty.
- Linux Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora, CentOS — others on request
- Windows Server on request
- AMD and Intel Xeon
- LiveConfig or Plesk as the control panel
- Run in data centres in Germany
Example configurations by server type
Which server type fits?
Dedicated servers
As a direct partner of Hewlett Packard Enterprise we configure server hardware to your needs. You can rent, buy or lease the systems from us. Alongside setup, configuration and handling the manufacturer's warranty, we take on the managed service for the systems.
- Server type dedicated, hardware for you alone
- Manufacturer Hewlett Packard Enterprise
- Processors AMD and Intel Xeon, 1–2 CPU sockets
- Operating systems Linux Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora, CentOS, others on request
- How to obtain rent, buy or lease
- Price on request
Virtual servers
We run your virtual environment — a resource pool or individual VMs. The resources come from our Secure Public Cloud, that is from OpenStack in our data centres in Hanover and Wolfsburg; looking after the system is ours.
- Server type virtual, own VM with guaranteed resources
- Processors AMD and Intel Xeon
- Operating systems Linux Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora, CentOS, others on request
- Storage from 50 GB SSD
- Price on request
If you want to move away from VMware, the route is set out under VMware alternatives and migration.
Your own web hosting platform
Run your own web hosting platform — as a reseller or for your own web presence. Every hosting instance runs on a dedicated virtual machine with guaranteed server resources. Through the LiveConfig interface you administer the hosting accounts for separate tenants and keep control of your web server. We look after the system.
- Server type virtual, own VM
- Processors AMD and Intel Xeon
- Operating system Linux
- Storage from 50 GB SSD
- Control panel LiveConfig, alternatively Plesk
- Price on request
How working together as a reseller looks is set out under becoming a partner.
What is in the managed service
The difference between a server and a managed server is these four points.
Maintenance of operating system and software
We keep the system current, apply security updates, and check whether anything broke in the process.
Hardened system environment
The systems are delivered hardened — not as a default installation you then have to secure yourself.
24/7/365 monitoring
We monitor around the clock and resolve faults. What is fixed within what time is set out in the SLA.
Backups on request
Backup is not automatically part of every server. What you need we agree together — see [backup and archiving](/en/managed-services/security-performance/baas-draas).
What can be priced
The price of the server depends on the configuration and is stated in the quote. These building blocks are in the price catalogue of 14 January 2026 — all prices net.

Frequently asked questions about managed web servers
What does a managed web server cost?
The price depends on the configuration — processors, memory, storage and operating system — and is stated in the quote. What is priced are the building blocks around it: system management from €10.00 net per month, LiveConfig €9.90, Plesk from €12.99 per VM. Tell us what the application needs and we will work it out.
Which operating systems do you support?
Linux Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora and CentOS are standard, other distributions on request. Windows Server is possible; the licence is then billed per two CPU cores.
Can I buy the hardware instead of renting it?
Yes. As a direct partner of Hewlett Packard Enterprise we configure the systems, and you can rent, buy or lease them. Setup, configuration and handling the manufacturer's warranty are ours in every case.
Can I resell web hosting under my own brand?
Yes. The hosting platform runs on its own VM and is administered for separate tenants through LiveConfig. You appear to your customers as the provider; we look after the system behind it.
What happens when one web server is no longer enough?
Then the cluster begins. The five stages — from separate web and database servers to geo-redundancy across several sites — are set out under web clusters.
What does "system management" mean in the price list?
Five stages that build on one another. Platform means: we are responsible for the virtualisation environment, you for your machines on it. Admin adds the installed operating system — with administrative access for you and for us, while responsibility for running it stays with you. Monitoring & Patching takes the updating off your hands: security patches in agreed maintenance windows, continuous monitoring of processes and resources, fault reporting around the clock. Advanced extends that with freely chosen patching windows and monitoring that reaches into the applications. Full-Managed is the complete handover: administrative access with us alone, responsibility for infrastructure, operating system and applications. Billing is per system. The stages in detail are set out under monitoring and patching.
What response times do you commit to?
We monitor around the clock, every day of the year. How quickly we intervene and through which escalation stages is set out in your contract — a time we have not committed to is not a time we state here.
